We’re Josh and Rachel Kane, and we pastor Mill Hill East Church together. We love welcoming everyone to experience the love of Jesus in a community that is full of joy and hope.

Mill Hill East Church began in partnership with the local community, and we’ve carried on that way ever since.

We believe that the church is a community of people living out the values of Jesus’ Kingdom together on a journey called ‘discipleship’. As we journey together we invite everyone in our community to join us in experiencing, exploring and expressing the love of Jesus. This journey is inspired by the Holy Spirit, rooted in the Bible and defined by grace.

In the early 1950s a Congregational church minister asked local neighbours to pay ‘a bob a brick’ and a building for both worship and the wider community was put together. The church became part of the United Reformed Church when it was formed in the 1970s, and joined with the Baptist Union as a local ecumenical project in the late 90s. However from our first congregation up to now we’ve been committed to worshipping in a way that is welcoming, creative and accessible.

We still decide direction and ‘discern the mind of Christ’ together as members, and it’s our congregation who decide together who God has called onto the church leadership team, and even who to pastor the church.
